چکیده
Background: Thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO) is a vasculopathy involving small and intermediate vessels of extremities with various medical surgical treatment strategies. Objectives: This cohort study aimed to compare the outcomes interventions in patients TAO. Methods: Patients definite diagnosis TAO were enrolled evaluated on first day, as well three six months follow-up visits. A total 70 followed for 30 months. Improvements primary complaints (claudication calves soles, rest pain, paresthesia, thrombophlebitis migrans, gangrene, scars, Raynaud's phenomenon) compared between groups. Results: In terms gender, 98.6% participants male. The mean age was 43.24± 9.8 years. Based results, 37 sympathectomy surgery, 11 amputation 15 bypass 12 therapies ILOPROST considered (Medical combination therapy severe symptoms). final results demonstrated that significantly improved who underwent surgery than others. Conclusion: As evidenced by obtained our benefited more from pharmacotherapy

Thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO), or Buerger's disease, is a vascular occlusive disease associated with cigarette smoking. It typically affects medium sized vessels of extremities. Basic pathology of TAO is described to be endothelial activation with highly inflammatory intraluminal thrombosis preserving internal elastic membrane. Thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO) has been a recognized clinical entity for more than half a century (Buerger, 1908). Distal arterial occlusive disease and/or recurrent superficial thrombophlebitis occurring in an adult male smoker, in the absence of known cause, constitutes a distinctive and unmistakable syndrome (Brown, Allen, and Mahorner, 1928). However, the existence of this disorder has be...

BACKGROUND Thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO, also known as Buerger's disease) is a non-atherosclerotic inflammatory vascular disease that primarily affects arteries in the extremities of young adult smokers. Since the etiology of TAO is still unknown, therapeutic options are limited. Recent attempts in therapeutic angiogenesis have been promising. Therefore, the aim of our study was to evaluate ...
